Population Boom

Bon Temps has experienced a population boom! Businesses are cropping up everywhere in our little town. We have a @BTSonic, a new @SuperSavABunch, @BTKosherDeli among others. So what is it about Bon Temps, New Orleans and Shreveport that has twitter exploding with new business? No taxes? No traffic? Whatever it is, I suspect Bon Temps and the rest of Louisiana will continue to grow.

(PEOPLE.com) -- "True Blood" fans with a taste for male eye-candy can breathe easy: stars Ryan Kwanten and Sam Trammell promise they'll spend very little time in wardrobe for the show's upcoming third season.

"We joke about it -- and who has the record for the most disrobes," says Trammell, who plays the shape-shifting Sam Merlot. "I think Ryan does. But I'm close behind him at this point because I've already disrobed like four or five times this year and I don't think he has at all. I've got to fight that out with him. Ryan is definitely ready to show up and flaunt it, because he's got the bod to back it up. He's probably the least bashful."

"I tend to think that I live my life relatively fearlessly," admits Kwanten, who plays the heroic if not always clear-headed Jason Stackhouse. "If HBO knew half the things that I do in my personal life they probably wouldn't be too happy about it ... I have no fear. I sort of hide behind the guise that I am playing a character ... Personally, I'm quite restrained and almost introverted. But as Mr. Stackhouse, I can't afford to have any of those sensitivities."

Trammell says the show's producers don't exactly help the cast stay in top shape for their frequent nude scenes. There is no exercise equipment on set, but plenty of tempting food on the craft services table.

"[Working out is] up to us," he says. "They've got the cookies out."

He said the cast has gradually gotten used to performing in the buff. "Some of the ladies are kind of shy sometimes ... Pretty much the process is: You're shy, you take off your clothes once and then it's done."

Debbie the Werewolf???

True Blood creator Alan Ball has revealed that he has cast a new female werewolf named Debbie Pelt.

According to TV Guide, the character will debut in the third episode of season three, which airs later this year in the US.

He said: "[She is] a badass bitch you do not want to get on the wrong side of. She is not going to like Sookie."

The HBO series, which has won several awards, has been filming its third season since early December.

Six or More Seasons? Yes Please!

True Blood actress Rutina Wesley has suggested that the vampire series may run for 'six seasons or more'.

The actress, who stars as Sookie Stackhouse's best friend Tara in the supernatural drama, told SciFiNow that fans will be "dying to watch for a long time".

"I think it will run for as long as… I mean there are nine books out there, and [Charlaine Harris] is going to do three more, but I don't know if we will [run] that long.

"People seem to think that True Blood is going to be one of those shows that will run for five or six seasons if not more."

She added: "It's going to depend on audience ratings and stuff like that, but I can't imagine it not running for a long time because the books are just so juicy and Alan Ball has also made everything so vibrant, colourful and imaginative, and so I think it's going to be a show that people are going to be dying to watch for a long time."

Wesley attributed True Blood's success to its high viewing figures and originality. The show was recently renewed for a third season.

Alcide has been Cast!

There’s a hot new werewolf on the scene!

Taylor Lautner may be PEOPLE’s most wanted star in 2010, but True Blood fans will have something to growl about now that the show has cast Joe Manganiello as Alcide Herveaux, who will appear in season 3 as a love interest for Sookie Stackhouse.

In the books by Charlaine Harris that HBO’s hit is based on, the werewolf Alcide helps Sookie (played by Anna Paquin on the show) search for her missing vampire beau Bill Compton (played by Stephen Moyer).

According to EW.com, which first reported the casting news, producers were looking for a “good-looking, rough-around-the-edges, articulate, heroic, and decent” man for the role.

They found their guy in Manganiello, who is best known for playing bartender Owen on One Tree Hill and his recurring role as Brad on How I Met Your Mother.

In another bit of casting news, Emmy-winner Alfre Woodard will guest star on True Blood, according to The Hollywood Reporter, as the mother of Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis), Merlotte’s short-order cook who illegally sold vampire blood.

Mary Anne's Hunter Soufflé

Ok, I'm not an epicurean but I have done some research and I think we can recreate the Hunter Souffle' following and combining two different recipes

Using the recipe from an Aussie recipe website for Calf's Hearts ( see here) You would dice and brown chopped heart with garlic, onions, carrots, diced potatoes, with herbs and spices in butter. Then flame with cognac, cover and cook.

Then you could use the resulting mixture as a basis for the basic Ground Beef Soufflé. You could replace the beef added in the [-- ] below with your browned heart and vegetable mix and proceed with the rest of the basic souffle recipe.

* note it will NOT bleed when you cut into it and hopefully it won't make you start slapping your family...

Ground Beef Souffle

3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 pound extra lean ground beef
5 eggs, separated

Pre-heat oven to 350°. Melt butter in a skillet and stir in flour. Let cook for about 1 to 2 minutes, but don't brown. Stir in milk and cook until thick, stirring constantly. Add cheese, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper.
[Place ground beef into another skillet and cook and stir until well crumbled and lightly browned. Drain off any fat.]

Stir into the sauce. Beat the 5 egg yolks until creamy and gradually stir into the sauce as well. Cook for 1 minute and remove from heat. Beat it thoroughly and let it cool. Beat the 5 egg whites until very foamy and creamy. After the yolk mixture has cooled, stir a big spoonful of the beaten egg whites into it thoroughly until it has a slightly foamy look. Pour this slowly over the remaining egg whites, folding and lifting as you pour.

When it is all folded in well (DON'T BEAT IT) pour carefully into a buttered and floured souffle dish. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. It should be very firm and shake hardly at all when tested

Open House

Good news, "True Blood" fans! While you and I are waiting with bated breath for the return of our favorite vampire-centric television series, it sounds like the on-screen and real-life romantic coupling of Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are doing whatever they can to satisfy our thirst for all things Bon Temps by bringing Sookie and Bill to the big screen!

Alright, that's not exactly the case. You see, Anna and Stephen are set to star in a movie together, but it sadly has nothing to do with "True Blood," vampires or the fangtastic Alexander Skarsgård. Instead, the small screen's most lovable duo are hitting the bright lights of Hollywood in "Open House," an all-new thriller directed by Anna's brother Andrew.


According to IMDB, the movie focuses on a wealthy couple (played by Anna and Stephen) going through a marital crisis. As a result, they decide to host an open house in order to sell off their troubled home — but the real trouble emerges when they realize that one of their potential buyers is still lurking inside their house.

The "True Blood" duo are joined in the film by an excellent cast that includes "Battlestar Galactica" favorite Tricia Helfer and "Nip/Tuck" actress Jessica Collins. The film is apparently in post-production and set for a 2010 debut, so we might even get to see this film before "True Blood" returns to the airwaves next year — suddenly, the wait for Bill and Sookie's on-screen reunion isn't so bad, is it?
